My name is Steve Kopitz and I am the owner of Skis.com. I have been skiing for over 47 years now (I'm 53) and it is and always has been my passion. When I was a teenager I saw others dream of becoming rich and famous while all I wanted was to own and run ski shop. It took some time (including a stint in financial planning at American Express) but I finally reached my goal. In 1990 I opened my very first store with only me, my wife and my cousin running the entire thing, along with my two children who enjoyed running around in the backroom and generally wrecking havoc. I have now been in the sports equipment business for 17 years selling skis and snowboards along with other sports gear, but my true love lies in deep powder and steep runs.
