I remember vividly the summer vacations I spent as a child. The days were filled with swimming, horseback riding and playing outside until dark. Another thing that I loved to do every day was read. I had a ferocious appetite for books and read many over the summer break. Now that I am a parent, I find it funny how the school system has a “required summer reading list” that the children must read from. The list always consists of three books to choose from. Each of our local libraries only stocks one copy of each of these books.
