Prom is a magical event. A coming-of-age ritual steeped in tradition, it’s the defining Cinderella moment when gawky little girls blossom into beautiful young women. Proms have come a long way since my day when we decorated the gym with papier-mache palm trees and danced to the beat of a local garage band under glittered cardboard cutouts of starry skies. The guys have traded in their Sunday suits for tuxedos; but for the girls, it’s still all about the dress!
