Boys don’t like to shop for clothes. At least, mine don’t. And they especially don’t like shopping for clothes with their mommy. Way too embarrassing. But they also won’t shop for clothes on their own. Please, they’d rather be playing video games. And boys outgrow their clothes – especially their shoes – just about every other week. So what’s a mother to do?
Some moms will buy tons of stuff at the store and take it home to see what actually fits their sons and what they will consider wearing. Then they take back the rejects. That means an extra trip, making sure you keep the receipts, and standing in line again.
I used to put items on hold that I thought my sons might like. This way, I figured, they didn’t have to endure the tedium of going through the racks of clothes with me. I would pre-select for them. The only trouble was sometimes, we did not make it back to the store. They had homework, band practice, soccer practice or plans to play World of Warcraft with their friends. “Mom, I told you!” they’d say.
Or if we made it back to the store with five minutes to go until closing, my boys would take one look at my selections, and shake their heads in disbelief that I could be so clueless in choosing clothes for them.
You’d think that shopping online would be the perfect solution. The boys just had to pause World of Warcraft for a moment. But major retail websites mostly sold clothes that were kind of uncool. Enter DrJays.com.
